Having lost my beloved husband of 28 years to a massive stroke on 2-13-04, the internet, as well as much else once important in my life, has held little interest for me since. Only recently have I begun to revisit some of the web sites both Rick & I enjoyed (mainly those related to our favorite singer/songwriter, Paul Simon). We both shared a passion for his music since the 60's, but beyond his music, we shared a deep admiration for the man himself - a great humanitarian who seems to care deeply about people of all races & backgrounds; the America of his birth; & the quality of life/equality of people worldwide. I was disheartened that the only comment posted about Paul's support of Kerry was one so blatantly negative. It surely would have dismayed my late husband as well & as a way of honoring the memory of another great humanitarian with whom I was privileged to share my life for 3 decades, I feel compelled on his behalf to come Paul's defense. I feel, as did Rick, that John Kerry is this nation's best hope in this election year. I believe the office of president deserves someone who understands the complexities of the issues facing our nation & the other nations of this planet as well. I applaude Paul's courage, generosity of spirit, & social consciousness in publicly taking such an important political stand.

Well that sure sucks. I love Paul Simon, but I don't like this at all. I'm a libetarian extemist you see, and I'm not exactly a "supporter" of Kerry. Paul Simon should know not to support that bitch.
