Julie, over at the alt.music.paul-simon newsgroup, has organized a Paul Simon song contest, in a similar vein to the two March Madness tournaments we ran here at Lasers in 1999 and 2000. The rules and regs are simple - log on to the newsgroup (either through your ISP’s news server or on the Web at Google Groups. Look for the threads marked Head to Head and cast your vote, picking your song preferences from among lots of pairs. Round four is under way, but I’m sure Julie will accept late votes for the first three contests. Enjoy! (And good work, Julie!)

Round Three is on the newsgroup now and we desperately need more people to join in. If anyone can’t access the newsgroup send me an e-mail and I’ll send you a list of the song choices and you can vote that way. Thanks. Julie
