Honouring Lorne Michaels

Paul Simon will join a who’s who of comedy, politics and music in saluting Lorne Michaels, an old friend of his and the creator of Saturday Night Live, on the occasion of Michaels’s receiving the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. Actually, Paul already honoured Lorne last fall, but the show will be broadcast this week on PBS. Paul will be singing “Still Crazy After All These Years,” which has become something of a standard affair for these tributes – see Mo Ostin’s induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame a few year’s back. Check local listings; the show airs at nine on Wednesday night in most areas.
