Thanks to Kapeman, who found a real YouTube gem – Paul Simon performing a demo of what would become two songs: the melody is clearly “Mother and Child Reunion” (in embryonic form, as the title of this post suggests) and the verses eventually wound up in “Was a Sunny Day.”
