Good question. I fear the CITP DVD release might be lost in a dustbin somewhere. Who’d have thought that we’d see a Live at the Tower DVD release prior to the ’91 classic. Ah well.

I wonder if it might also mean a DVD release of Paul Simon’s Concert in the Park is possible. On the Wikipedia page for that event, it speculates the reason behind the lack of DVD release is a contract between Pioneer (who presumably recorded it and released the CD and VHS) and Warner, limiting the release on new formats by Pioneer of artists signed to Warner. Maybe, just maybe, it might now be possible to release it on DVD.

Roger Friedman did get his scoop at the Yankees game. I saw him chatting with Paul Simon as I was there as one of Roger’s guest. I also had a chance to say hello and chat with Mr. Simon. As a lifelong fan, who grew up singing his songs and inspired by his music, it was a truly memorable moment.

By the way, the Yanks won 8-2!

Paul Simon cannot appear on the White House to honor Paul McCartney because it is on the same day (June 2nd) that he performs with Joan Baez at The Children Health Fund Annual Benefit.

I hope it’s true about the new album, looking forward to it in the fall.

No longer a fan. Tired of pop stars political statements. You guys live in a bubble and have no clue to how most people live.
You do a concert for health care!? You really want more government control! I thought that is what we protested against in the late 60′s.
Government is the problem, not the solution.

The great thing with paul simon is you know that when you struggle to get into a song it will eventually become a favorite. The same applies to this movie,the more you watch the more you enjoy.Listen to the capeman don t give up on it. Absolutely brilliant is all i can say forget the broadway problems the cd is a treasure.
